I'm Lizi Jackson-Barrett, a fully-qualified Coach (PGDip), bringing a brand-new approach to successful weight loss. I've spent most of my adult life overweight and have failed at just about every weight-loss plan out there... until I discovered coaching, and went on a journey to understand my relationship with food and uncover my true Naked Goals.
I first joined a well-known diet plan at the age of seventeen, and since then I have tried pretty much every diet plan, trend and fad you can think of. Yet at almost forty years old I was still more than seven stone overweight. I'd read the books and gone to the diet clubs. I knew what I should and shouldn't be eating. What I couldn't understand was why I kept sabotaging my own weight-loss by eating the foods I was trying to avoid - until now.
After decades of being told what I should and shouldn't put in my mouth, it was a breath of fresh air when I approached weight-loss by thinking about what goes on in my head.
It was only when I applied the principles of coaching alongside my chosen diet plan that I finally started to see the results I wanted. I was able to spend time understanding my own behaviours and attitudes to food, and this was key to helping me stick to my plan and lose the weight.
I still have days when I make the wrong choices, and I haven't reached my goal weight yet. But I now have a clearer understanding of how to approach my weight-loss journey, and what to do when it feels like it's going wrong. For the first time my goal is in sight and I feel confident I'm going to reach it... and you can feel like that too.
